From the Lee County Records office, a range map from 1967 shows line-drawing of Captiva, mid-island from the narrows (including the northern tip of Buck Key) to the northermost part of Captiva. Hand-written on the map are subdivisions and names of land ownership. On Captiva: F.W. Stengel, First National Bank of Fort Lauderdale, Norda Essnt'l Oil & Chem. Co, A. Weeks, and "SUBDIVISIONS". On Buck Key: Benedict, J.C. Black, W. Futch, H.M. Bixby, and "SUB'D". |
