From the collection loaned to C.I.H.S. by Bob Averill of Sanibel's "Islander Trading Post", this hand-colored postcard has an image of a dock, water, sand, shrubby and palms. There is a small building, also. The reverse side of the postcard has text indicating the image is of the Steamer Dock at Captiva's Camp Gore Gotel. Mrs. H.E. Gore is the manager. The body of the message references the dock, the hotel and the boat that brings the mail. There is a postmark dated 1936 and a cancelled 2 cent postage stamp. |
