deed humor property |
Date |

Scope & Content |
These two deeds, granting rights to the property owned by Walter Mickle to his wife Lucy Mickle, include the humorous verbiage "in consideration of the sum of one dollar and other good & sufficient considerations" and also "One dollar and love and affection". While these deeds are not for Mickle's property located on Captiva (one deed is for property located in the Hanson's Highland subdivision and one is for property in St. James City) the copies are included in our digitized archives because, significantly, these are documents filed the same year (1921) Mickle lost all of his Captiva property due to the storm which swept through his land cutting Captiva Island in two and creating North Captiva Island. These six photocopies are from microfische files from Deed Book #58, located at the Lee County Records office in Fort Myers. |
