Roy Adam Wedekind passed away at age 98 following a brief illness. He owned the Gulf View Inn on Captiva from 1947 to the mid-1960s. The only building remaining from the Inn is the Mucky Duck restaurant. Mr. Wedekind and his wife were charter members of the Captiva Memorial Library and supported the community church by meeting the minister at the mail boat, and providing his room and board for many years. |
