Summary |
The chapel was originally constructed as the first county school and doubled as church with services held when the circuit preacher came through. It was abandoned in 1918 when a new school was built on Northern Captiva where South Seas now exists. It was purchased by the Methodist Church as a mission in 1921. The chapel was reorganized in 1948 and began regular services. It was bought from the Methodist Church in 1954 for $2,500 by a group of Captiva residents. |
