Summary |
A new Captiva flag was raised outside the Captiva Community Center. The flag, featuring a green palm tree and brown pelicans, was originally concieved by postmistress Nethel Moss. Louise Carr Tuttle, who annually produced the needlepoint rug, designed the flag and Captivans Peg Hofschneider and Mary Bates put up some money to get the original produced. It was then mass produced and small versions are sold as souvenirs. The flag is flying over the firehouse, Post Office, and Community Center. |
