Images from the Captiva Island Historical Society's 2017-2018 season. Island Voices, a Speaker Series event, featured Katie Gardenia. The event, held at South Seas Island Resort, afforded people to hear first-hand stories from Ms. Gardenia, purchase her book and art, and eat Bubble cake. Many attended the event, including Ron Rosse whom, during his childhood on Captiva, had mowed the lawn for Ms. Gardenia and whose mother, Gloria, was a hostess at the Bubble Room. |
