Palm Sunday at Captiva Chapel by the Sea. The day prior, under Queenie's tutelage, palm crosses were handmade by Kristie Anders, Diane Fugit, Anna Irvine, Merni Libonate, and Queenie Viglione. On Palm Sunday those palm crosses were offered to chapel guests. Palm crosses are also placed on every headstone at the historic cemetery.

The Captiva Island Historical Society recreates an old-fashioned community picnic during their "Island Jamboree" event, which was free and open to the public. Highlights of the event included fried chicken and fried mullet dinner with pie for dessert, live Americana/Bluegrass music, a pie contest, jars of homemade mango chutney, and island games including a milk can toss (with mini coconuts) and flukey ball. These 12 photographs were taken during the CIHS's first "Share Your Story" event. The event was held at Jensen's Twin Palm Marina and the theme was "Big Fish Storles". Journalist Ken Sneeden conducted video-interviews, Dave Godfrey barbequed fresh-caught mullet, and CIHS President Tom Libonate and CIHS Driector and events co-Chair Mary Jane Vinson were on-hand to digitally scan artifacts brought for inclusion to the CIHS archives.
