Twelve photos of the April 23, 2015 awards ceremony for Captiva Island resident, Karel Aster, the last survivor of a group of 14 Czech nationals who volunteered to serve for the United States Army after Japan attacked Pearl Harbour and invaded the Philippines in 1941. Presenting to Mr. Aster, the Gratias Agit Award from the Czech Republic, as well as the Philippine Defense Medal and Award for Victory Medal, was Czech Ambassador Petr Gandalovic.
